EFT stands for Emotional Freedom
Technique, a simple, easy to learn way to eliminate
the self-defeating Thoughts, Beliefs, and Emotions
(TBEs) that keep you from living fully, enthusiastically,
and successfully.
On day one of our lives we begin
picking up “bad stuff” from our surroundings
– parents, siblings, school, and TV. These inputs
occur daily and as they accumulate over our lives,
we store them in emotional garbage bags called self-defeating
TBEs. Unless we dispose of this “stuff,”
it will limit us and hinder our best attempts at wealth
and success.
As EFT is dissolving the blocks to
wealth and success, it will also do wonders for:
- anxiety
- emotional trauma
- physical pain
- phobias
- addictive cravings
- and who knows what else
EFT is a form of “psychological
acupuncture” based on the energy meridians of
Chinese medicine. Instead of using needles, however,
all you do is use the fingertips to tap on certain
points on the head, chest, and hand. At the same time,
you hold a specific problem in mind and say a “set
up and reminder phrase.”
All negative emotion can be thought
of as disrupted energy. This disrupted or “stuck”
energy is programmed by the mind as habitual and recurring
Thoughts, Beliefs, and Emotions and by the body as
pain and disease. EFT balances disrupted energy and
gets it flowing again. Restoring the balance of the
energy system neutralizes emotional conflicts at their
source. As a result, the body and mind apply their
natural abilities to heal body, mind, and spirit.
EFT is safe, easy to apply, and is non-invasive. Feelings
of fear, anxiety, anger, and guilt, for example, are
substantially decreased or completely eliminated.
Designed by Gary Craig, a Stanford
educated engineer, EFT belongs to a new class of treatments
referred to as Energy Psychology. Gary has dedicated
his work and life to teaching people how to overcome
emotional blocks (and their physical manifestations)
to success. EFT is truly revolutionary. It is one
of the most effective, efficient, gentle treatment
techniques I have come across.
How does it work? All scientists
agree that the body is an "energy configuration"
made up of positive and negative electrical charges
in the form of atoms, the basic "building blocks
of all matter." Einstein’s genius discovered
that all matter lies somewhere on the same energy
continuum: E=MC². If we view the human body as
an energy configuration -- rather than as merely matter:
organs, parts and chemicals -- we will understand
why and how EFT works.
The idea of tapping on acupressure
points requires a shift in some of our deepest beliefs
and may appear strange at first glance. It may certainly
disturb many professional therapists. Nevertheless

The
Basic EFT Formula:
1. Choose a problem to work on.
2. While tapping on the karate
chop point, say the following Affirmation out loud
3 times.
“Even though I have this (state
the problem), I deeply and completely accept myself.”
Ex: “Even though I have this dread
of cold calling, I deeply and completely accept
myself.”
3. After you have completed this
step, choose an easy, short Reminder Phrase that
represents the problem, such as “this
dread of cold calling.” Then
as you tap (5 to 7 times) on each point below, in
sequence, state your Reminder Phrase.
4. If a sense of dread still exists,
repeat the above, saying “Even
though I have this remaining dread of cold calling
. . . . “

1.
The problem: fear of public speaking
2.
Tap the karate chop point and say 3 times: “Even
though I have this fear of speaking in front
of people, I deeply and completely accept myself.”
3.
Then tap each of the points 5 times while saying
“fear of speaking.”
4.
Repeat, if necessary, adding the word “remaining”
to the statement. |
Other
Applications of EFT
In order to be wealthy and successful,
we need to have all of our energy available to work
on our behalf. Any self-defeating, counterproductive,
or negative habit of Thought, Belief, or Emotion causes
conflict in our unconscious mind and, because it drains
our precious energy, we have less available for our
daily work.
Below is a list of problems and
conflicts that EFT treatment has resolved, leaving
the person with more self-confidence and energy.
Anxiety Relief
EFT can successfully alleviate mild
or acute anxiety or panic attacks or generalized anxiety.
The duration of the fear or anxious feeling does not
seem to affect EFT’s results.
Weight
Loss
Food, like addictive substances,
is often used to comfort ourselves, i.e., to anesthetize
deep anxiety and emotional pain. EFT targets the feelings
that drive urgent food cravings and compulsive overeating.

Poor
Self Image
EFT relieves the negative energies
of shame, guilt, apathy, and grief by targeting specific
beliefs underlying these feelings. The negative limiting
beliefs we hold about ourselves (such as I’m
not competent, I’m not worthy, I don’t
deserve success) that support a poor self-image can
be transformed with EFT.
Pain
Control and Physical Conditions
EFT can accelerate healing, improve energy circulation,
reduce muscle tension and dissolve the emotional states
that may be contributing to the onset of any physical
or physiological condition. Maladies such as migraines,
chronic back pain, PMS, fibromyalgia, asthma, rheumatoid
arthritis, allergies, hypoglycemia, sinus conditions,
hemorrhoids, and many others have been relieved by
EFT.
Smoking and Chemical Dependency
An addictive substance such as cigarettes
or drugs is generally used to tranquilize inner turmoil
or anxiety. Because EFT eliminates feelings of anxiety,
it also alleviates the urge to smoke, physiological
and psychological withdrawal symptoms, and environmental
relapse triggers.
Sports
and Sales Performance
EFT can help any professional salesperson or athlete
to improve performance, especially performance under
pressure. There are endless ways our minds trick us
to sabotage our performance. EFT has been used by
salespeople and athletes to alleviate performance
anxiety, reduce muscle tension, and neutralize other
self-defeating psychological blocks that reduce personal
effectiveness and peak performance.
Phobias
EFT has an impressive record when it comes to neutralizing
specific phobias such as claustrophobia, fear of heights,
needles, elevators, and snakes. By tapping the endpoints
of the meridians while tuning in to the problem, the
“congested energy” is “metabolized”
and the anxiety dissolves.
Note: It
is important to keep your body well hydrated while
using EFT. Since such energy therapies work with the
electricity of your body and water conducts that electricity,
you’ll need to drink water as you are tapping.
Psych-K
– Installing New Beliefs
Your beliefs are the foundation
of your personality. Beliefs, along with perceptions
and values, guide your behavior and establish the
limits of what you can achieve. They define you as
powerful or powerless, trusting or suspicious, fairly
treated or victimized, competent or incompetent, self-reliant
or dependent, wealthy or poor.
It is obvious that beliefs have significant consequences
and determine the way you look at and approach life
– your self-esteem, your physical health, your
job performance, your relationships, even your belief
in God. Beliefs systems act as the large frame around
personal change work that is done. All the affirmations
in the world will do no good if people really believe
that:
• The desired state doesn’t
match their identity
• They don’t deserve the desired state
• They’re not safe in the desired state
• They don’t have the capacity to accept,
work toward, or live in the desired state
Saying over and over again “I
am rich beyond my wildest dreams” will make
little or no difference in net worth if the person
claiming it doesn’t believe he IS rich, doesn’t
deserve wealth, isn’t safe being wealthy, or
lacks the ability or capacity to do what it takes
to be wealthy.
Beliefs are the result of conclusions
we draw about our experiences in life. Stored in the
Unconscious mind, the presence of these energies helps
explain why the Unconscious is so powerful in directing
our behavior. Given their power, it is crucial that
we know how to identify beliefs that limit and sabotage
us and change them into beliefs that support and nurture
us instead.
While we have the capacity to use
both Left and Right sides of our brains fully and
appropriately, experiences in childhood tend to create
dominance of one side in specific situations. Subsequent
experiences then trigger that same dominance which
results in an imbalance. In this case, communication
between the two sides breaks down. What is needed
are ways to re-establish “cross-talk”
between the two hemispheres, what we’re calling
Whole-Brain communication.
Psych-K is a technique designed
to create a Whole-Brain state and then, while in that
state, to reprogram with new positive, enabling beliefs.
Originated by Rob Williams in 1988, Psych-K includes
processes for dramatically accelerating personal growth.

series of intuitive leaps generated by years of research

Inner
Dialogue: Resolving Inner Conflict
The
third in the family of effective, innovative techniques
for dealing with Blocks and obstacles identifies them
as Parts, dysfunctional subpersonalities that inhabit
our Unconscious mind. These “energy patterns”
form in the early years of our lives, taking on specific
personalities, and either maintain or grow in strength
as similar and reinforcing experiences take place
in our lives. Each Part has a specific purpose, a
particular necessary task, always positive, to protect
and further our health and well-being.
Unfortunately, that specific purpose
formed in childhood in time of need may no longer
be relevant and a Part may, in faithfully performing
its duty, be preventing you from succeeding. You may,
for example, have a Part responsible for keeping you
modest, since modesty was valued and reinforced in
your original family. As an adult, however, such modesty
may prevent you from comfortably and passionately
selling yourself or your ideas and products critical
to making your contribution and your living.
Inner Dialogue opens communication
between the Conscious and the very powerful Unconscious
minds enabling you to be aware of and then direct
or re-task Parts, to bring them up-to-date, to re-program
